Escape the crowds as we take you on a journey up the glacial carved Rangitata Valley to visit the historic Mesopotamia sheep station. This is located in the heart of New Zealand’s Southern Alps.

Travelling by 4WD vehicles your guide will describe the area's rich history, farming practices, and point out the natural features enroute. We pass by other stations starting with the historic Mt Peel, then White Rock, Rata Peaks, Ben Mcleod and Forest Creek. Once we reach Mesopotamia Station, our 4WD takes us high on station tracks and trails through the deer park where you may also see Himalayan Thar. Then it’s time to enjoy a home style picnic and refreshments with stunning views of the Southern Alps. On the return journey we visit the historic Mt Peel church and can enjoy a short walk in Peel Forest Park with its 1000 year old native trees.

Our day tours require minimum numbers of 2 people to operate. In the event of only 1 person booking that tour we will offer you an alternative date or refund you the full payment.
